Stellram HardCore® solid carbide drills offer up to 4X the tool life and up to 50% less cost per hole compared to similar competitive carbide drills.
The secret? Two carbide grades, placed at exactly the right location within the tool.
The results? Up to 50% less cost per hole for drilling. Up to 4X the tool life. Up to 2X times faster production speeds due to extreme feed and penetration rates.

Why Our Technology Is Different
In typical drilling applications, the drill tip remains stationary while the edges run at high speeds. This puts tremendous pressure on the drill tip, and chipping often occurs due to lack of toughness.
Stellram HardCore technology combines two grades of carbide into one tool, and eliminates chipping, durability issues, and production speed issues typically found in drilling applications.
Stellram HardCore technology is currently available in two product lines, with sizes ranging from 3mm to 16mm in diameter (0.118" - 0.63") and capacities up to 8X diameter. Current product offering includes both solid and through-coolant models.

Why Our Technology Works
The technology we use in our Stellram HardCore solid carbide drills dramatically pushes performance by up to 4X more than competitive high-performance drills. It's the way we position the right carbide at the right place on the drill that makes the difference.
For example:
Durability:
The top photo shows the magnified point of a competitive carbide drill. The edge is chipped after only a few minutes of drilling. Because the center of the drill moves much slower than the outer edges, the carbide doesn't have the resilience to resist the torque and other forces. The drill point chips and hole quality begins to deteriorate.
The Stellram HardCore drill (bottom photo), with more resilient grades of carbide, provide longer tool life and better performance.
Speed:
Production speed involves how quickly a hole is drilled, how long the tool operates before maintenance is needed, and how long the equipment is down because the tool has to be changed.
Stellram HardCore® drills boost production speeds up to 2X times faster because they require less frequent changes (even in hardened steels). Fewer tool changes mean less equipment downtime, more holes get drilled at the end of the shift.
